Lion Star Co. is a small web design and marketing business based in Kelowna, British Columbia. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to follow Canadian privacy law, including BC's Personal Information Protection Act and PIPEDA.
1. What we collect
- What you send us. Your name, business name, email address and project details, when you use the contact form, email us, or message our Facebook Page.
- Business material for your project. Text, photos, logos and other content that clients choose to send us so we can build and maintain their website.
- Basic technical data. Our website is hosted by Google Firebase Hosting, which keeps standard server logs such as IP address and browser type. This website does not currently use advertising trackers or analytics.
2. How we use it
- To reply to your questions and arrange a conversation about your project.
- To prepare quotes, build and look after websites, and send you project updates.
- To keep the records we need for our business, such as invoices.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
3. Our Facebook Page and Meta app
We run a Facebook Page called "Lion Star Co." We use a Meta app named "Business Post Automation" only to publish our own posts to that Page and to manage its content. The app does not collect, store or sell personal information about people who visit, follow or interact with the Page.
If you message our Page, Meta processes that message under its own policies. We see it as the Page's administrators and use it only to respond to you.
4. Who else handles your information
We use service providers to run our business, and they may handle information you send us only to provide their service to us:
- Google (Firebase Hosting for this website, and email).
- A form-handling service for the contact form.
- Meta (Facebook and Messenger), if you contact us there.
- Square or similar payment tools, when a client's website uses them for checkout.
- Software and AI-assisted tools that help us draft and organize our work. We do not post client information publicly without the client's permission.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as we need it to work with you and to meet legal and tax record-keeping requirements. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
6. Your choices, and how to delete your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us at the address below with your name and what you would like us to do. We aim to reply within 30 days.
